Quest-a-thon

So, I have been playing about with quests recently. Bored of xping, I decided it was time to try something different, and questing suited the bill.

Toraimai Turmoils and Wild Card are now completed, you will find me in Gustav Tunnel, killing Doom Soldiers in an attempt to get a Cold Bone for Nothing Matters. And you know what? It’s been fun. My npc is now half way to level 58 with helping me out!

Ranger 38

So I have been having fun, doing bits and pieces. I got ranger up to 38 fairly quickly, and enjoyed myself in the process. On the last day, I went from 34-38 in about 6 hours, in a couple of impressive parties. The second one, in Gustav Tunnel, had a cor who was using Hunter’s Roll – I love it… It stops here for a while, as I only wanted it as sub for my sam (which I will level up at some point!).

Now to get back to meriting, and do some whm merits. The problem is fitting in the time… Actually, we have had some progress on the ls front which I think will help. In yesterday’s Dynamis-Bastok, we had 42 in the zone. I love Dynamis. We very nearly cleared the zone yesterday. We had the repops round the Gustaberg gate left, and that was it. With this amount of people, we can give serious consideration to Dynamis Lord now (once we get everyone access, that is).

Pankatrion has opened, but honestly, spamming the NPC to get a bout is worse than HNM claiming… It seems fun though, I’ll go into detail next time.

And so the fun begins!

This weekend can only be described as huge fun. Friday was sea farming day. We started off with Yovra farming while we waited for people to get online, completing gorgets for some people. We then decided to do JoFortitude, to see if we could with the numbers we had (we had 10, we had only ever done with a full ally before, and melee were thin on the ground). But it was fun. Huge fun. I was on blm, which I enjoyed as a change of pace. The helpers were a bit of a problem, killing a few of us, but we managed to kill them (nerf blu is all I have to say), and after that, it was much better. We killed it fairly quickly and got our first Sea Torque! Congrats Til for your +7 Sword skill!

Saturday was mainly ranger day. I had been hankering to level some lowbie jobs, so rng to 40 (to have for BCNM level) was my first target. It was sitting at 20, so I got the gear I needed, flagged up, and went to Korroloka Tunnel to plink arrows into worms while I waited. After about an hour (and well into 21) got my first invite. What is it with people and underlevelled subs? Anyway, the party was OK, and I got to 23. Took a break, and flagged up again later. Got an invite fairly quickly. This party was awesome. Nin, blu, rng, whm, bard, rdm. The rdm disbanded for some reason, got a sam. Then the bard left, and we just carried on with 5. We were consistantly chaining, and were getting over 5k an hour just from chaining the heck out of anything we could find. I was pulling like a fiend – one of the most satisfying Qufim parties I have had. I hit 24, and E Pin and Martial Slacks yay! Was going to stop then, but got two tells begging me to party – Kazham here we come. This party was a PL’ed one, so it was the 6 DD and 1 pl set up. At this stage, I went stuff it, and started pulling. The result was 20-25 in one day.

Next was Limbus, and got my second piece to upgrade my condom hat +1. +7 mnd in one headpiece, oh yeah! Did a couple of assault, now half way to Sergeant.

Sunday, I puttered. Levelled smithing a bit, didn’t do much else, then went out. When I came back, I logged on to:

Yes, we were attempting Jormungand for the first time. I was in the tank party, trying to stun what I could. A ls tried to pull him with 12, but only got him to 96% before wiping. So after they all died, we pulled him. God that was a fun fight – and we did so well. HP was gradually dropping – we had the melee as self-styled “Bomb Squad” killing all the adds, while the tank party, and the blm and smn were responsible for damage to Jormy himself. We actually got him to 30%, with only minimal death (including a certain nub rdm who converted then immediately got hit when he landed), when one of the sams who was skillchaining hit the wrong thing when he disengaged – and hit “Call for Help”. Well, that was game over. Still, next time he will be ours.

So all in all, a great weekend.

I appear to be a less gimp blm now!

still here?

Yes, I’m still here – ok I can’t write for toffee, but I am still here and playing. There is only so much “oh I xp’ed on whm today, got this” one can write!

So, what have I done? Little bit of this, little bit of that… a lot of crafting. I have been on a real crafting kick – so far I have smithing up to 26, goldsmithing to 47 (so near 48, just need to motivate myself). I’ve been harvesting, little bit of fishing – nothing very exciting, but useful stuff.

In between, I’ve been doing a bit of meriting. Currently working on Elemental Magic (at 3/8), after unlocking Devotion and a few other random merits. Aim is to get elemental Magic up, then randomly work on a couple of subs. I’ve started working on ranger – which is actually a huge amount of fun. Been just plodding away, soloing here and there, and now at 14 (I refuse to party at less than 14). Have my trailer’s tunica (walked up to the NM, found it, killed it, 1/1, walked out a happy bunny), so I don’t need much armour now until 30. After that, will be finishing thf, and probably blu, then levelling up sam. Why sam? Because I want to!

Now, one thing of note did happen to me.

More fun!

So, Kirsteena is back on the ‘having fun’ train. Been doing lots of odds and ends. Limbus, always fun. Ended up with the blm piece from Temenos (not sure what I will upgrade first though).

Dynamis. You know, it has been a joy to go back to the cities. My first run with CS was Xarc, which was hard (didn’t help I had a migraine come on). But after that, Jeuno and Windy. Both cleared with minimal fuss (I still remember our first Windy clear). Went blm on both occasions, though I wish for Windy I had gone rdm – the rdm there seemed to, erm, struggle to silence the birds. I don’t understand, however, how an Elvaan blm dies more than the tarutaru that are there? I lost about 5k xp over the two runs, but meh, it was fun.

We also started popping some jailers and stuff in sea. Tried to pop JoTemperance, but he wouldn’t pop, after that was Ix’Mnk, which was easily done, followed by JoFortitude. I went as whm to this – was my first whm outing!

Other than that, I have been skilling up club. A lot. Tried to get a party yesterday, but with no Astral Candecense, noone wanted to go to ToAU areas (walking would have killed them, it seems). So 3k an hour in Lufaise Meadows. In the end, I said “bugger this” and left, to go skill up club. Got 15 points yesterday as well! Now sitting at 190. Next time, I’ll dual wield them and see if I can get more skill ups. Hexa Strike is a coming.

I love the amount of free days I have, and the fun I am having. Now to find an Assault group and finish my Yigit set…

I’m still here!

A lot has happened recently, but nothing much. Very strange. I haven’t felt able to update, but I think perhaps now I will!

In shell news – I left Government recently. There had been internal upheaval, and more and more people left. We didn’t have enough to go to Fafnir, heck we didn’t have enough to do Dynamis (8 people turning up on time to start Dyna- Xarc is ridiculous). I also had issues with a few other things, and it had been building up. Now, as you know, I can’t do stress in game, so on Friday I made the decision to drop my pearl – I had been debating it for about a month. Thank you Government for my Duelist’s Chapeau, my Zenith Mitts and Zenith Feet. A fair trade for the time and effort I put in.

Frankly, I don’t think the shell will be with us for much longer. Friends who are biding time there say it is dead. Basically – what happened to Kinzuru happened to Government.

So what else has Kir been up to? Well, spending a fair amount of time out of game. I have had new interests take up time (including travelling round the country to see plays). Ingame, levelling whm. I now stand at 26k to 75, just need to get the time to settle down and level it (hoping to flag up tomorrow). When I get 75, and a decent buffer (if not cap buffer), I will be working on merits. Hard. I worked out with the new merits, I need 150 merits to cap my 3 75 jobs. Argh. So, that is what I will do. Inbetween farming, and fishing, and crafting, and camping NMs for my next job – which will be samurai. I’m going to camp the rare/ex O kotes, bounding boots, the mask etc. Why spend money when the lack of gilsellers and rare/ex of some of the gear will help me!

Crafting wise, I have been skilling up goldsmithing, currently at 43. Fishing is now at 53 – I have been doing it on and off for a bit. Marlins are still good to me!

Got my Loquacious Earring, and never really used it as yet! Going to try it on blm tonight.

Oh and shell wise? I ended up in CetraSanctuary, which has a lot of old Konoha members. My time ingame now is spent for my friends.

I’m back!

So, I rebuilt my computer. It took a while – I’m sorry!!!

Actually, I have also been cutting back some of my time in FF (rl has been taking over a bit), but I have done some things.

The most exciting was however on Saturday. Genuine chat log.
